Latvian Roofers Association
Latvian Roofers Association (LJA) is a professional association of roofing companies, craftsmen and artisans.
The Roofers' Association has been a structural unit of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts since the 15th century. LJA was re-established in 1996. Since 2005 the Latvian Roofers' Association has been a full member of the International Roofers' Association.
Today, for more than 10 years, LJA has been working to identify and organise the work of Latvian roofers so that it can develop freely on the principles of fair commerce, respecting the quality norms and requirements accepted worldwide.
Therefore, LJA sets the following goals for its activities:
- To promote the installation of quality roofing using sound technology;
- to maintain the culture and standards of roofers at a high level;
- to exclude the existence of unscrupulous and poor quality roofing work;
- to promote the learning of new roofing technologies.
In order to successfully achieve its objectives, the LJA sets out the following main objectives:
- to maintain and promote the visibility and prestige of the roofing trade;
- to educate and certify roofers;
- to carry out surveys and expert opinions on existing and future roofs;
- Representing Latvia's name and interests at international level by participating in world roofing championships and professional conferences;
- educating and advising roofing contractors on roofing and roof construction;
- promoting cooperation with Latvian and foreign architects and contractors;
- to continuously study and analyse the technological experience of roofers from all over the world, as well as to promote the acquisition of new technologies on the Latvian market.
Since 2005 the Latvian Roofers Association is a full member of the International Federation of Roofers (IFD). The International Federation of Roofers was founded in Munich, Germany in 1952 as an international cooperation centre for the support of national roofing associations and companies. At the present time, its members include European countries, Africa and North America.
It includes not only national associations, so-called full and associate associations, but also a large number of companies and organisations as partners.
Every year, an international congress of the Federation of Roofers is held, which provides a convenient platform for dialogue between national associations and partners. The events are hosted by one of the federation's representative chapters.
Projects
SIA "Produs" signed a contract No SKV-L-2023/27 with LIAA for support under the measure “Promoting International Competitiveness” , co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
